Increase the benefits with regular treatments!
Just because massage feels like a pampering treat doesn't mean it is any less therapeutic! As you can see above, having a massage offers many benefits, and regular massages offer additional cumulative benefits. This can play a huge part in how healthy, youthful and mobile you'll be with each passing year. Having regular massage is the equivalent to regular servicing of your car: your body will stay in better condition, will run more smoothly and is less likely to break down! And what a pleasant and enjoyable way to do something really good for yourself :)
Regular massage is an investment in your ongoing health and wellbeing. To make this easier and more affordable, enquire about my "Radiant and Relaxed" Monthly Membership being launched in January 2017.
Special considerations for Massage
Massage is to be avoided in the following circumstances:
- Over broken, bruised or inflamed skin
- Over broken bones and fractures
- Directly over inflamed arthritic joints or tumours
- Over rashes or contagious skin conditions
Special care needs to be taken with the following:
PREGNANCY: With correct training, pregnancy massage can be highly beneficial. I am fully trained and experienced in massaging throughout all stages of pregnancy, and have massaged a number of women (including one set of twins!) throughout their entire pregnancy. My reversible pregnancy beanbag is used on top of the massage table and allows you the luxury of safely lying on your stomach during the massage. Lateral massage is also available.
CANCER: Massage during and after cancer treatment has been proven to have numerous benefits, particularly on mental and emotional wellbeing. The Light Touch Therapy techniques used trigger the bliss receptors in the brain, stimulating the body's own self-healing mechanisms, all without placing any additional burden on the body. I have completed Level 1 Oncology Massage training with Eleanor Oysten and am aware of the safety precautions that need to be taken during oncology treatment and recovery.
